Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns pleads guilty to drink driving

The lawyer for musician Daniel Johns has entered a guilty plea on his behalf for a drink driving charge.

The Silverchair singer was charged with high-range drink driving after a head-on crash in the NSW Hunter region last month.

Police said Johns was travelling on the Pacific Highway at North Arm Cove when he crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and collided with a van.

Two people in the van were injured and a woman was taken to hospital, but has since been released.

Johns did not appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court today because he is in rehab.

His lawyer Bryan Wrench entered the guilty plea on his behalf.

He will be sentenced on June 22.
