An Australian man has shown why it always pays to check your footwear after stumbling upon a black spider living in his son's shoe while clearing out his garage.
The man was alerted to the danger when his son saw the inside of the orange and blue jogger was covered in a web.
Armed with spray, he attacks the shoe to coax the spider out.

After a few sprays, and some cajoling with a stick, the black spider emerges.
"Welcome to Australia," the man says.
The unnamed man uploaded footage of the encounter to YouTube yesterday.
The arachnid appears to be a blackhouse spider, which are venomous but not dangerous to humans.
ninemsn has contacted the man for comment.
