Craig Thomson case heads back to court

Disgraced former Labor MP Craig Thomson will head back to court to defend civil charges relating to the alleged misuse of a Health Services Union credit card for escort services.

Fair Work Commission general manager Bernadette O'Neill on Wednesday announced she had filed papers in the Federal Court seeking leave to re-enliven part of the commission's case against the former HSU general secretary.

The civil case had been stayed during Mr Thomson's recent criminal matter.

"I believe I have good prospects of success in relation to these matters," Ms O'Neill said in a statement.

It has been set down for trial starting on March 30.
