COVID-19 cases fall overnight in NSW and Victoria

Both New South Wales and Victoria have reported a slight drop in COVID-19 case numbers overnight.

In NSW, 8523 new cases have been recorded and seven more deaths.

There are 1165 people hospitalised with the virus, with 36 in intensive care.

Victoria has seen an additional 9307 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the last 24 hours.

Ten lives have been lost as 541 people are receiving care in hospital, with 29 in ICU.
