Couple's narrow escape as car crashes into Adelaide home

A car's veered out of control and crashed into an Adelaide home, coming to a halt just metres from the couple watching TV inside. 

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in the crash at Para Hills about 8pm yesterday.

CCTV footage captures a station wagon failing to negotiate the turn from Bridge Road onto Myall Road before it slammed into the home.

Inside the house, Suman Chaterjee and his wife Indrani were watching television, mere metres away from the impact. 

"I'm thankful to God that we're OK actually because we're living next to the roadside," Suman said.

"I'm just lucky."

The two occupants of the car, the 53 year old driver and her husband, who suffered minor injuries, climbed from the car as Indrani called emergency services.

The driver's daughter has told 9News her mother lost control of the car and accidentally hit the wrong pedal.

The home's garage and a fence was significantly damaged.
