‘All you need is love’: Couple gets engaged on stage at Paul McCartney concert
Music legend Sir Paul McCartney has been overshadowed at the first leg of his Australian tour, when a Perth man proposed to his girlfriend of 10 years on stage.
The man got McCartney’s attention when he held a sign up in the crowd, and the singer brought the pair up on stage.
McCartney told the man to “get down on one knee” as he popped the question to his girlfriend in front of a 23,000 people.
“We met in England on a Contiki tour and I thought at the end of the tour that she listens to a lot of the Beatles and I know now that I have the world’s biggest Beatles fan, and it do would be an honour, Saya, if you would take my hand in marriage?” he said to a roar from the crowd.
She said yes, as Sir Paul threw his arms around the newly engaged couple.
“Congratulations you guys,” he said, signing the bride-to-be’s jacket.
“It’s going straight up on eBay,” he joked.
