Victorians will be able to use playgrounds, skateparks and outdoor gym equipment from tomorrow in an early wave of easing coronavirus restrictions, as thousands of students also begin returning to schools.

Students from prep to grade two, year 11 and year 12, and all students in specialist schools will return to classrooms tomorrow.

Health Minister Jenny Mikakos said the state was able to further ease restrictions for outdoor recreation equipment following the mass testing blitz.

"This has been because Victorians have made huge sacrifices," Ms Mikakos told 3AW today.

"People have overwhelming done the right things. They've stayed at home and followed restrictions."

From June 1 up to 20 people can sit inside a café or restaurant, providing social distancing is adhered to.

The same applies to indoor and outdoor swimming pools, beauty salons, outdoor amusement parks, zoos and arcades.

Ms Mikakos said the hospitality sector would be given "clear advice" by health authorities before they are allowed to reopen on June 1.

"We've been working really closely with the hospitality sector we are going to give them really clear advice before the reopening of business," she said.
