Victoria has recorded another death from coronavirus, with a man in his 60s dying in hospital.

The state's health minister said the man had underlying health conditions, and had not travelled overseas.

It is likely he contracted the virus in the community, Jenny Mikakos said this morning.

"I want to express my thoughts and my sympathy to his family," she told reporters.

Meanwhile, the state recorded just one new case of the virus.

"This is a very promising result, we have seen a stabilisation of the numbers in recent days and, in fact, there have been no further cases of community transmission," Ms Mikakos said.

The national death toll stands at 75.
