Victorian Premier refuses to comment on Scott Morrison's NRL appearance

Victoria's Premier Dan Andrews has batted away a question asking about his opinion of Prime Minister Scott Morrison attending a rugby league game in NSW while Victoria is in lockdown.

"I wouldn't begrudge anyone taking time off with their family, I don't think that's an unreasonable thing," Mr Andrews said, referring to the prime minister.

"And before you give me the footy question, I've got better things to worry about than who went to the footy in New South Wales."

At the weekend, Mr Morrison was photographed attending a Cronulla Sharks game in New South Wales, which is not currently under "stay at home" restrictions.

Images of Mr Morrison at the match went viral on social media, with many criticising the prime minister for attending.

When pushed, Mr Andrews said "nothing is gained" by his opinions on the matter.

"Just as back during the summer, I am not going to chip a bloke for spending some time with his family," said Mr Andrews.

"As for who goes to the footy in other states, I don't have anything to worry about that. Nothing is gained by me offering gratuitous opinions on that."

On Friday Mr Morrison said he would not be joining his family "full-time" over the NSW school holidays.

"As you know, it is a school holidays and Jenny and the girls will be taking some time on the outskirts of Sydney but given the changing critical situation we have in Victoria, I will not be joining them for that full-time," he told reporters today.

"I will also not be standing aside from the tasks I have all day.
