Bus that used to take seniors around city still checking in

A bus service for seniors living on Sydney's Northern Beaches is doing its part to make sure its commuters stay connected during the coronavirus pandemic.

"For the past few weeks, we've been calling around all of our customers, checking on their welfare, making sure they are okay," Easylink Community Transport general manager Dan Giles said.

Jenny Maxwell is one regular who says the bus's visits are important.

A senior transport bus is still checking in with the community. 9News

"I went into hospital, I had an operation, and then when I came back, I wasn't very good at walking," she said.

This week, the locals are getting a special treat – fresh-baked Anzac biscuits to tide them over.

"This is our way of bringing the ANZACs to them," Easylink chairperson Debbie Organ said.
