NSW records seven new cases, five of whom are linked to a known cluster

New South Wales has recorded seven new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, five of whom are linked to a known case of cluster.

The remaining two new cases are returned overseas travellers currently in hotel quarantine.

Of the five cases linked to existing clusters, one is a student who attends St Paul's Catholic College in Greystanes; two are linked to Concord Hospital including one staff member; and two more are linked to the Eastern Suburbs Legion Club at Waverley.

NSW Health is now working with the club to rapidly contact members who may have been in the club while infectious cases were present.

As a result, NSW Health is urging anyone who attended the Legion Club on the following days and times to immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days regardless of the result:

•          Tuesday, 1 September from 6.00pm

•          Friday, 4 September from 4:30pm

•          Saturday, 5 September from 4.15pm

•          Sunday, 6 September from 5.00pm

•          Monday, 7 September from 3.00pm

To date, NSW's death toll remains at 54 with 86 patients currently being treated in hospital.

Of those, six people are in intensive care and four are currently on ventilators.

The state has now recorded 3,953 total cases from almost 2.4 million tests.

NSW Health continues to recommend that residents of the state wear a mask on public transport, in ride share cars, in taxis, at shopping centres, places of worship and other areas where social distancing is not possible.
