Fun run event that draws tens of thousands cancelled in Perth due to coronavirus fears
A fun run that draws more than 30,000 people has been cancelled in Perth as the city braces for further coronavirus outbreaks.
Insurance giant HBF has drawn a line through its Run For A Reason event, which had been scheduled to May.
CEO John van der Wheelen admitted it was an "unusually cautious" decision, but the "right thing to do".

He said HBF needed to be focused on the coming health battle against the virus.
"We have over a thousand employees and hundreds of our staff volunteer at this event, so my first priority is keeping the HBF offices open," he said.
Community spread is expected to peak in Western Australia in May.

And despite Premier Mark McGowan calling for calm, the state government is preparing for more events to be cancelled.
Mr Van der Wheelen said the event may be rescheduled for the spring.
All charities involved will receive the money owed to them, and those who've already registered and paid will get a full refund.
