More than 22,000 new COVID-19 cases recorded across the country

Together New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland have recorded more than 22,000 new daily COVID-19 cases.

In NSW there were 9,725 new cases reported, which is a drop from yesterday's 13,601.

Six lives have been lost in the state related to the virus.

And there are 1527 people with COVID-19 in hospital and 64 in ICU.

Victoria also saw a dip in daily case numbers, with 8153 new cases reported, compared to yesterday's 9559.

Two more COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state.

And 401 people with the virus are in hospital, with 25 in ICU.

In Queensland there have been 4850 new cases recorded and no additional lives have been lost.

There are 563 people with the virus in hospital and 19 in ICU.
