Corey Worthington says sorry to dad with high-flying gift

Corey Worthington gave away the yellow sunnies and petulant teenage attitude years ago, but apparently he still feels there is penance to pay for the outlandish party he threw back in 2008 that catapulted him to infamy on a dime.

"When I was 16, I threw the best party Australia had ever heard of," Worthington says in an ad for online gift store RedBalloon.

"The next day I was famous. But there was one guy who wasn't so impressed: My old man."

The "Clean the Slate" campaign, created by marketer Clemenger BBDO, is premised on the statistic that 75 per cent of Aussies cop to doing something wrong by their dad.

Worthington, now 24, happily – if a little sheepishly – admitted to having grown up a lot since his wild teenage years on A Current Affair earlier this year.
