In his 'element': Copper thief caught on CCTV
A man has been caught on camera stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of copper from a Melbourne construction area.
Video released by police shows the hard-hat wearing offender grabbing copper piping and power tools from site on Swanston Street.
He can be seen checking behind his back, before going ahead with the thieving.

It’s believed he targeted the same site three times; on April 27, April 29, and on May 1.
Investigations are ongoing.
