Convicted killer rearrested in Adelaide after escaping from low-security facility

A prisoner convicted of killing a police officer has been arrested after escaping from a low-security facility in Adelaide last night.

Gordon Marshall, 48, was recaptured just before 2pm near the Sir Samuel Way Building in Victoria Square. 

The building is home to Adelaide's criminal Supreme and District courts.

Marshall was returning from day leave to the Adelaide Pre-Release Centre at Northfield when he ran from staff about 6.30pm last night.

In 1985, Marshall killed Constable Lyncon Williams while drunk and firing shots into homes.
