Christian Democrats MP Fred Nile was caught up in a car crash on his way to parliament this morning.

The bingle occurred less than 500m from St Mary’s Cathedral and the irony wasn’t lost on social media users.

“The Lord works in mysterious ways,” Dean Rosario tweeted.
