Treasurer Scott Morrison says the economy is performing and delivering jobs, with consumer confidence rising despite a turbulent global economy.

The latest ANZ-Roy Morgan weekly consumer confidence gauge rose two per cent in a week that saw sharp swings in global share markets.

"Confidence figures are surviving despite the global uncertainty," Mr Morrison told reporters in Brisbane on Tuesday.
