Concern for missing elderly couple in Melbourne

An elderly couple have gone missing in Melbourne and police have called for anyone who may have spotted them to come forward.

Bentleigh couple Otto and Gerda were last seen leaving a car park on Kings Way about 6.30pm yesterday.

The 87-year-olds were in their gold Lexus sedan heading towards the city.

The car's registration is PYM-184.

Police say the disappearance is out of character and the couple are normally in regular contact with family.

Otto is described as 180cm tall with balding white hair, blue eyes and a medium build.

Gerda is described as 170cm tall with short curly white hair and blue eyes.

The pair had a prearranged medical appointment this morning which they did not show up for.

Police and their family hold concerns for their welfare as they both require ongoing medical treatment.
