Malcolm Turnbull has put company tax cuts and childcare changes at the top of his agenda when parliament resumes in 2017.

After wins on restoring the building construction watchdog and a registered organisations commission, the prime minister says he'll continue to seek Senate support for the coalition's enterprise tax cut legislation.

He's also pointed to stalled childcare reforms to get parents back to work earlier, healthcare changes, city and innovation policies as priorities.

But when asked about his "Tony Abbott problem" the prime minister deflected, saying his predecessor was part of his team.

"The reality is we have a strong team, of which Tony Abbott is part," he told ABC's 730 program on Wednesday.
