The naysayers who would argue till they’re blue in the face that Gold Coasters aren’t excited for the Commonwealth Games obviously haven’t driven past this paddock.

In a show of pride usually reserved for the State of Origin NRL series, cattle in a paddock near the busy Gooding Drive roundabout in Merrimac on the Gold Coast are emblazoned with the words “Go Aus” in green and gold spray paint.

Owner Judy Turner told 9NEWS residents were used to her spraying her cows with the acronym “QLD” in maroon paint ahead of the annual state-on-state clashes in June.

She said she’d had a couple of honks from passing motorists this morning.

“I love the Gold Coast, I love Queensland, I love Australia and I love my cows that’s what it’s all about,” she said.
