Games to bring economic growth to Queensland

When 670,000 people flock to the Gold Coast during the Commonwealth Games, many will be there for the business opportunities as much as the sport.

The Games will be the backdrop for a series of major trade events to boost business.

The Trade 2018 program will consist of about 30 business meetings across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to network, meet people, meet new business people and do deals,” Queensland Chief Entrepreneur Steve Baxter said.

Commonwealth House, located at Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach will serve as the exclusive business hub during the Games.

The hope is, if Queensland can do business, the Games will prove to be profitable for the state.
