Commonwealth Bank has been hit by a nation-wide outage, with customers reporting their credit card balances have vanished.
The bank’s NetBank site and smart-phone app is currently showing only savings account funds, with home loan balances and travel money accounts also unavailable.
Scheduled payments via BPAY and some merchant terminals are also implicated in the glitch.
“You may not be able to make bill payments in the CommBank app,” a statement on the bank’s app reads.
“Thank for being patient with us…we’re sorry about the inconvenience.”
A number of CommBank customers have taken to social media to complain about the outage.
"I’m expecting to check into a hotel in an hour and I need to use my card," one distressed Twitter user posted.
Another tweeted, "currently travelling and relying on my credit card".
A graph published by Aussie Outages shows a significant spike in reported issues with the bank's services between 8am and midday today.
The bank earlier said it hoped to resolve the issue by midday.
