‘Hey, do you want a job?’: Comedy response to catcall video shows white men get attention on the street too

A US comedy website has responded to a viral video of a woman being constantly harrassed walking through New York by sending a white man out onto the same streets.

The Funny Or Die sketch, inspired by a similar video showing an actress being continually catcalled during a 10-hour walk, replaces the central figure with a white man.

He too is approached by random strangers on the street - but they are offering him jobs, footballs, sandwiches and at one point even crown him the King of New York.

The original video shows actress Shoshana Roberts being catcalled 100 times in 10 hours.

Intended to highlight the intimidation and harrassment women face every day, it raised a huge response online.

Many were supportive of the video and its message, but Roberts also attracted some further abuse including rape threats.

The end of the Funny Or Die video asks viewers to help by "doing nothing" to tear down male privilege.

"Leave the patriarchy in place," it advises.
