Driver dies in early morning crash in Sydney’s west

A man has died after crashing his car at an intersection in Sydney’s west early this morning.

Police say the driver failed to negotiate the intersection of Hewitt Street and Roper Road in Colyton about 5.15am, hitting the metal railings.

The car rolled and came to a stop in a creek bed.

The driver died at the scene and his passenger was treated by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital for observation.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam video is urged to contact police.
