Millions face freezing mornings in major cold snap
Most of Australia was plunged into sub-zero temperatures yesterday, with more to come through the week.
The cold snap is due to a "near-stationary" high-pressure ridge affecting eastern and south-eastern Australia, Weatherzone said.
It's resulted in some places experiencing their lowest temperatures in two to four years.

One of the coldest temperatures yesterday morning was -4.8 degrees, recorded at Yunta in South Australia.
It was the lowest result at the site for four years.
Canberra fell to -3.8 degrees, while Thredbo in NSW recorded -3.6 degrees.
At Mount Hotham in Victoria temperatures dropped to -3.7 degrees.

Wynyard in Tasmania recorded a low of -2.4 degrees, and even Roma in Queensland dropped to -1 degree.
More sub-zero temperatures are expected in south-eastern and eastern Australia through to Thursday morning, Weatherzone said.
It could get even colder, with temperatures of -5 degrees likely.
