Clive Palmer's fugitive nephew spotted in Bulgaria
Clive Palmer's nephew Clive Mensink, who is wanted for questioning over the collapse of his uncle's Queensland Nickel refinery, has been spotted in Bulgaria.
Mr Mensink and his girlfriend Gabriela Konstantoniva were photographed by News Corp outside a cinema in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia last week.
Mr Mensink, 49, was described as “unrecognisable”, having lost a significant amount of weight and grown out a beard.
"Mr Mensink looked horrified and refused to answer News Corp's questions as he ducked into a pedestrian subway after being approached last week," the report read.
He has been on the run from authorities for two years, following the disintegration of the Townsville refinery at which he served as the sole director.
Mr Mensink has reportedly since spent thousands of dollars on high-end fashion for his girlfriend, and travelled to a number of destinations including Vienna and Munich.
News Corp has since alerted authorities to Mr Mensink’s current whereabouts.
