Clinton racist slurs on Trump wrong:Howard
AAP
Former prime minister John Howard isn't impressed by Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in the US presidential race, saying "I'm glad I'm not an American".
He believes Ms Clinton blundered in calling Mr Trump's supporters xenophobic, saying it reminds him of all those Australians 20 years ago who said anyone who voted for Pauline Hanson was racist.
"The truth is globalisation and economic change has hurt a lot of people ... this idea that everybody who is discontented with the current situation is a racist, a bigot or a homophobe .... is not correct and I think (Ms Clinton) has made a big mistake," he told Sky News on Sunday.
