Climate activist interrupts Senate day one

A climate change protester has interrupted the official opening of Australia's 46th parliament, shouting from the public gallery after the governor-general's speech.
The man started a speech mentioning the Great Barrier Reef before Senate President Scott Ryan asked for him to be kicked out.
"Stop Adani," he shouted as security removed him from the chamber.

Greens senators clapped the man's interruption after his speech was cut short, shortly after Governor-General David Hurley finished outlining the Morrison government's agenda.
