Citizenship listening tour gets under way

Australians are about to get their say on the federal government's plans to strip citizenship from terror suspects with dual nationality.

A community listening tour will hold hearings in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Darwin, Adelaide, Perth and Tasmania during the next fortnight.

"There is strong support for mechanisms for suspending privileges of Australian citizenship from people ... who would stand against Australia," parliamentary secretary Concetta Fierravanti-Wells told reporters in Canberra on Thursday.
