Citizen's arrest lands man in Melbourne police custody

A man is in police custody after he was detained under a citizen's arrest following a pursuit at Endeavour Hills this morning. 

Police took chase after a Holden sedan on Heatherton Road around 10.15am after the driver allegedly failed to stop.

Officers stopped pursuing the car after deciding it was too dangerous to continue. 

However, a short time later the Holden allegedly collided with a second vehicle, and the 23-year-old male driver attempted to run from the scene. 

Members of the public chased down the driver and detained him nearby. 

Police arrested the man at the scene and he is assisting police with enquiries.
