Cindi the sausage dog's stunning maternity shoot goes viral

A Charters Towers photographer is now fielding requests for milestone pet photo shoots after capturing stunning shots of her four-year-old pregnant miniature dachshund that went viral.

Cindi the sausage dog is the picture of puppy love in the images and she's full-term with her first litter on the way.

To celebrate the pregnancy, her owner Vicki Miller, a professional photographer, organised the maternity photo shoot at their Mingela home.

"It makes women feel good about themselves when it's such a miracle of life, and I just wanted Cindi to have the same thing," Mrs Miller said.

The pictures have now gone viral because they are just paw-fect, achieved using plenty of pats, praise and a few treats along with the professional stops, such as early-morning light, on location in granny's garden.

Decked out in a flower crown, Cindi wasn't shy about showing off her puppy fat.

"She was really good. She posed up. I think she thought she was so hot," Mrs Miller said.

Everyone on social media, where they were posted on Facebook and Instagram, agrees she looks quite "fetching".

"I knew there would be a lot of people who thought it was funny and cute, but I didn't expect it would be so popular," Mrs Miller said.

While Cindi is the star of the show right now, her pups are sure to steal her spotlight when they arrive in a week.

They will be getting their very own newborn photo shoot just like their mum had a few weeks after birth. 

If they look anything like Cindi in her newborn pics, the purebred puppies are sure to break the internet.

A family photo shoot is planned in the future with the father, 'Small Boy' who lives with family friends at Greenvale, a three-hour drive from Charters Towers.

In the meantime, Mrs Miller may have found her niche, already receiving several calls for similar specialty pet milestone photo shoots.

"I have had a request to take maternity photos of someone's pregnant horse and another inquiry about a newborn shoot for a brand new litter of kittens," she said.
