A woman has been charged with murdering an eight-year-old boy in Rockhampton, Queensland.

The boy was found unresponsive at a home in Berserker about 2.20am today during a police welfare check.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested and this afternoon charged.
She has been remanded in custody to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday.
