Child among three burned in backyard Sydney explosion

A six-year-old girl was among three people injured in a backyard explosion in Sydney's Northern Beaches last night.
Emergency services were called to the blast at a home on Aubreen Street in Collaroy Plateau about 7.40pm, and treated a 46-year-old man for burns to his face and arms.
A six-year-old girl and 42-year-old woman were also treated for superficial burns.

All three patients were taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital and have since been discharged.
Police believe the explosion occurred when a flammable liquid was poured on to a fire pit.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
