The child was found safe and well around midnight when he was taken to Crestmead police station.

A 34-year-old Crestmead man, who was arrested in Oxley shortly after 12.30am, has since been charged over the incident.

He has been remanded to appear before the Richlands Magistrates Court tomorrow on charges including grievous bodily harm and strangulation.

Police have seized a grey Mazda CX9 as part of the investigation.
