The state's peak doctor group believes reviewing the history of every single cancer patient treated in public hospitals over the past five years is unrealistic, despite new cases of patients being given the wrong treatment.

The under-dosing of chemotherapy drugs for more than a hundred patients at St Vincent's Hospital and at least three patients of southern Sydney hospitals has sparked the review into past patients' files.
