CFMEU must hand over documents: High Court
AAP
The CFMEU has lost its High Court bid to overturn an order requiring it to hand over documents related to the blockade of a Melbourne construction site.
In a unanimous decision, the High Court ruled the union did not have a defence of avoiding self-incrimination as this protection was limited to criminal and not civil cases.
A Boral subsidiary is seeking internal CFMEU documents relating to strikes affecting the site, as part of ongoing contempt of court proceedings.
