Cessna crashes in Bankstown

A 19-year-old woman has been able to walk away from an aircraft crash in Sydney's southwest.

Paramedics treated the woman who had not suffered any major injuries.

The single-engine Cessna crashed into a fence while attempting to land at Bankstown airport at 9.30am on Friday, police said.

They said there had been only one person on board but paramedics say they've assessed two people.

The fuel tanks on the airplane remained intact but fire crews have taken fire protection measures as a precaution.
