'This needs to change': Central Coast mother on the brink of homelessness
Central Coast single mother Ngaire Smith is losing heart as her rental vacate date fast approaches as the state faces a housing crisis.
Over the last six weeks of fruitless searching, Ms Smith has made more than 40 rental applications in search of a new home for her family - to no avail.
"It's taken a huge toll," she said.

"There has been nights I've been in tears. I've been feeling like I've been letting my kids down."
"I can't provide them a safe home."
Property Council New South Wales claims the state urgently needs at least 100,000 new homes, indicating that 40 per cent of people they surveyed consider housing supply and affordability to be a major concern.
Desperate for help to keep her children Rachel and Ryan, as well as their support dog Luna in suitable, safe accommodation, Ms Smith is calling on the government to act.
"This needs to change," she said.
"There's so many people in my situation who haven't had the opportunity to speak out."

Her daughter Rachel also expressed concern.
"It's not fair the way mum's being treated just because she has one income and works for herself," said Rachel.
As the Smith's apartment is set to be sold by it's owner, Ms Smith has been looking into every option available to keep her family from homelessness.
"I'm looking into caravan parks, temporary housing, putting all my stuff into storage," she said.
"I have no family local."
Ms Smith says she simply couldn't afford to leave the Central Coast.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast, Adam Crouch, says 25 new social housing properties are being delivered across the region as part of an $11.4 million partnership with Pacific Link Housing.
