Central coast swimmer dies after being hit by car

A teenage swimming champion has died after being hit by a car on the NSW central coast.
Jade Frith, 15, was walking to training at a pool in Warners Bay on Tuesday afternoon when she was hit by a Ford Laser as she crossed a road, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
She was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition, suffering head injuries and broken bones and died yesterday afternoon.
Her family and friends at Novas Swim Club have shared their grief on Facebook.
Many have shared photos of their swim gear to pay tribute, using the hashtag #capsoutforjade.
Local community sporting groups pledged to observe a minute's silence and wear black armbands during their weekend competitions in honour of Jade.
The driver of the Ford Laser, a 22-year-old woman, has been interviewed by police.
A report is being prepared for the NSW coroner.
