A section of ceiling at Perth's Children's Hospital construction site has collapsed, adding another setback to the beleaguered site.

Site builder John Holland said a section of plasterboard fell from the ceiling Tuesday afternoon and no one was injured.

The piece had been damaged by water during severe weather on Sunday and exclusion zones had been set up around water damaged areas.

On Tuesday, John Holland said tests had been conducted at the site to assess if other water damaged sections posed any risks.

"An industrial hygienist had conducted tests to also check for any other areas of water damage beyond what could be seen," a spokeswoman said.

"All appropriate safety regulators have been notified and exclusion zones remain in place."

Two weeks ago, lead was discovered in the water at the site, while two months ago, asbestos was found in ceiling panels.
