CCTV released after man hit with baseball bat in violent Sydney home invasion

The chilling moment two masked men armed with a baseball bat slid open the door of a Sydney home and tiptoed inside has been caught on CCTV.

The video released by police shows the men walking around outside the home in Green Valley in Sydney's west just before 12.30am on Sunday.

In one moment in the CCTV a screen door opens and one of the thugs swings the bat at the person just out of shot.

Police said the two men confronted a 31-year-old man inside the home, assaulting him with the bat.

The pair fled empty-handed.

The victim was treated for injuries to his head, legs and torso.

Detectives have released footage of two men they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

The first man is described as tall, with a large build and dark complexion. No description has been offered for the second man.
