Abduction fears after screaming man seen dragged into car

A man seen being bundled into a car, screaming for help and struggling to get free in Sydney’s south-west has authorities worried and searching for answers.

Early on Sunday morning witnesses called police to say they saw a man being dragged by two men towards a dark coloured hatchback, while a third man punched him.

When police officers arrived at the scene, the man and the vehicle had already gone.

Security footage shows the man stumbling along Lakemba Street in Wiley Park, just before the suspected abduction.

While there have been no recent missing person reports made in the area, police hold concerns for the man’s safety.

“We have grave concerns for his welfare. He appeared injured prior to being placed, or forcibly placed into the vehicle,” Detective Inspector James Dark said.

The man is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, aged 20 to 30, of a slim build, and with short dark hair.

He was wearing a long-sleeve shirt and pants.

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information about the man’s identity or witnessed the incident to come forward.
