The 70-year-old man was on the footpath on Coventry Road in Smithfield Plains yesterday morning when he was struck by a black Subaru sedan.
He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he is recovering.

The 42-year-old Lewiston man driving the Subaru was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for minor injuries.
He has since been charged with causing serious harm by dangerous driving and driving unlicensed.
