Blanchett was the short-priced favourite for the dramatic actress Globe, despite being nominated with four greats of the industry - Sandra Bullock (Gravity), Judi Dench (Philomena), Kate Winslet (Labor Day) and Emma Thompson (Saving Mr Banks).
The Globe is Blanchett's third of her career after Elizabeth in 1999 and I'm Not There in 2008, and confirms the Australian as the favourite for the Oscar.
