Cate Blanchett gets the kebab treatment at Oscars

Australian actress and Oscar favourite Cate Blanchett has been given the kebab treatment on the red carpet, ahead of the 2014 Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

The Blue Jasmine star stepped onto the E Network's 'FashionTurn' outside the Dolby Theatre and spun around like a piece of meat on a skewer to be judged by viewers at home and the E anchors.

Blanchett is heavily tipped to take home the Oscar for best actress in a lead role for her powerful performance of a wealthy socialite who falls into poverty and homelessness.

The 44-year-old won an Oscar in 2004 for her role as Katherine Hepburn in the Martin Scorsese film The Aviator, which was based on the life of eccentric tycoon Howard Hughes.
