Worst boyfriend ever leaves girlfriend in tears after cat plunge prank

A mischievous boyfriend had his girlfriend in tears after a he convinced her their cat had fallen from a window to its death in cruel but convincing prank.

Renowned video hoaxers Jesse Wellens and Jeana Smith made a name for themselves with their long-running web series "Prank vs Prank".

The high-stakes jokers have reduced each other to tears in a number of their well-planned pranks but none quite so much as Wellens' recent payback in the ongoing saga.

In retribution for drawing a penis on his forehead while travelling on a plane, Wellens returned the favour to his girlfriend with interest by faking her cat's fatal fall.

"Jeana, I know this is the meanest prank I ever pulled on you but all I have to say is: 'Pay back is a bitch'," he declares in the video uploaded to YouTube on Sunday.

With a lifelike cardboard cut-out of her cat, Wellens convinced his partner that her feline friend was in precarious position on the windowsill.

As soon as Smith entered the room, Nyla the cat cut-out went bye-bye.

Of course the cat was safe but the limits of good taste — and their relationship — were likely tested in this instance.
