Waterfront Sydney home on the market for first time in 80 years

Built in 1911 and with only three owners in that time, a secluded Sydney property is on the market for the first time in 80 years.

The waterfront cottage in Castlecrag, uninhibited for the last five years, sits on 6,500 square metres of land.

Used as an illegal gambling den in the 1920s, the property has quite a rich history, and a richer price tag.

"You can see here this is the original table with the chip holders," Chris Keane from Ray White Lower North Shore told 9News.

Original ornate ceilings are ready to be brought back to life, and the front yard is positioned straight onto the vista of Sugarloaf Bay.

The property is heritage listed so renovations will need to be negotiated with council, but interest is already high despite the $6 million asking price.
