These relate to the alleged assault of a 13-year-old boy Cassius was walking home with, Western Australian Police Commissioner Col Blanch said today.

"It's alleged he struck the 13-year-old across the face with a metal pole," Blanch said.

The boy was on crutches and it will be alleged Brearley, stole those from the teenager.

When pressed on more details about whether the alleged attack on Cassius was racially motivated, Blanch would not be drawn.

He said he wanted the court to do its job and would not be put in a position to jeopardise the legal process.
