Fisher confirms Star Wars return

The dreams of Star Wars fans around the world have been realised with Carrie Fisher confirming that she, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford will all be returning to the latest incarnation of the franchise.

Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original films, will join Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Ford (Han Solo) in the JJ Abrams-directed film.

"I'd like to wear my old hairstyle again – but with white hair," Fisher joked to TV Guide.

"I think that would be funny."

Abrams has revealed the script for Star Wars: Episode VII has been written and work is already underway on the highly-anticipated film.

Fisher and her co-stars are expected to start work on set in March or April.
